Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Rameshwar Chourasia on Wednesday termed Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi's statement that he is willing to forgive all small traders indulging in black marketing as extremely unfortunate.

"It is very unfortunate that such a statement has been made. Black marketing is black marketing whether it is big or small. If you pardon the small and nab only the big then a wrong message will go to the people," Chourasia said.

"Being on a constitutional post, the CM shouldn't have made such a statement. It is not right to make such a statement to hide their weakness," he added.

The BJP leader further said the matter of black money and black marketing should not be politicized.

"Our party has constituted a SIT to bring the black money back to India," he added.

Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal also criticized the Bihar Chief Minister's remark and said steps should be taken to stop corruption at all levels.

"I don't know in what context the CM said this and what he means by it. Steps should be taken to stop corruption at all levels. It is not possible that you let small scale corruption to thrive while focusing only to stop the large ones. Corruption is corruption whether it is big or small, whoever breaks the law must be punished," he said.

The Bihar Chief Minister had earlier made a shocking comment by announcing that his government would forgive all those small traders, who indulge in black marketing worth small amount in order to see that their children get education.
