Chris Brown turned himself in a day prior to schedule at a Los Angeles jail over his hit-and-run case, on Monday.

Sources revealed that Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, engineered it all to avoid paparazzi from being present when he turned himself in, TMZ reported.

Brown showed up at the Van Nuys jail at around 2 PM, when the cameras were at the courthouse connected to the jail where 50 Cent made a court appearance.

On May 21, Brown had slammed his Range Rover into the back of a Mercedes and allegedly could not produce the proper insurance documentation and identification for the other motorist.

Brown pled not guilty to the hit-and-run charge but was ordered to turn himself in to the authorities by Aug. 6 because he was not arrested at the time of the accident.

The 24-year-old singer was due to be booked for his alleged hit-and-run offence on Tuesday. The next court hearing for the hit-and-run is set for August 15.
