The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Friday welcomed the Delhi Budget presented by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government and mentioned that the budget was comprehensive in addressing the issues of the citizens and industry and meeting their expectations.
The members also appreciated the government for incorporating many of recommendations and suggestions submitted by CII.
CII Northern Region chairman Shreekant Somany said, "CII is encouraged and proud that we were an active participant in the development of this budget. It was truly participative with active involvement of all stakeholders. CII submitted suggestions and recommendations to the State Government for the Budget. It is heartening to see that the Government shares CII's vision of making Delhi a knowledge and skill hub with its clear focus on areas like education and skill development".
Aligning with the recommendations by CII, the Delhi Government has also announced setting up of sewage treatment plants and waste to energy plants.
CII maintained that Delhi has the potential to be a world class tourist destination, stating that the government must look at promoting the sector by giving the tourists an incentive to come back.
