According to the local officials, a series of gruesome attacks in the Yemeni city of Seiyun has resulted in the death of at least 13 people.

A suicide bomber reportedly entered an army base, killing four soldiers in Hadramawt province- a region that has some of the oil reserves of the country.

Four attackers and two soldiers were killed in another incident at the city's airport while a woman was killed in an attack at a nearby agricultural plant.

The main post office and two banks have also been raided killing 15 soldiers and 12 attackers.

The West fears that the unrest in Yemeni might lead to al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) taking charge there to propel its attacks oversees, reports Al Jazeera.
