Australian captain Michael Clarke reportedly admitted that he had been out of order following a heated exchange with South Africa's Vernon Philander during the closing stages of their third and final Test at Newlands.
Philander reportedly appeared to get into an argument with the Australian players as he was given out caught behind following a bouncer from Mitchell Johnson which flicked his right glove into wicketkeeper Brad Haddin's gloves.
According to Sport24, Clarke rushed in after Philander appeared to get into an argument with the Australian players after he was declared not out as the third umpire overruled the umpires decision after Philander asked for a review of his catch.
Clarke said that he was 'out of line' as and went to his teammate's defence when 'something' was said to the player while the two 'extremely passionate' teams were playing the match, the report added.
Australia won the three-match Test series between them and South Africa after defeating South Africa in the final match by 245 runs with 27 balls to spare.
