Australian Test captain Michael Clarke's decision to hold a 'boys-only' party after their Test series victory over South Africa had reportedly caused disgruntlement among some of his players and the WAGS (wives and girlfriends).
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, although Clarke had officially declared the party 'WAG-free', however, they were certain members of the squad who wanted their partners by their side because they had travelled a long way to be with them and felt that they deserved to enjoy the moment.
The report mentioned that further tension was caused by the fact that the team's celebrations were not held in a private area - it was in a public bar - so, while the significant others were told to fend for themselves, the celebrations were hardly exclusive.
The report also said that there is a feeling that Clarke was influenced by the decisions like the party by his close friend and leg-spin great Shane Warne, although the captain has laughed off the allegations, saying that the team has never before seen a more 'tight-knit bunch of blokes' than they have in the side right now.
However, the report also added that the WAGS were told there would be 'blokes only' events, like the night at the end of a Test.
