Clarke's hamstring injury not 'serious enough' to rule skipper out for entire summer

Cricket Australia physiotherapist Alex Kountouris has said that he hopes to see Captain Michael Clarke to play a part in the summer, despite hamstring injury ruling the skipper out of the ongoing ODI series against South Africa.

According to Kountouris, Clarke's hamstring injury is not as bad as has been projected; instead he is experiencing an acute back pain, which has further complicated things. He believes that the left hamstring injury is similar to the one Clarke suffered in Zimbabwe back in August, reported News.com.au.

It is disappointing that he has got the same injury in the same location, which has been aggravated by a sore back, he added.

Refusing to rule him out of the upcoming test series against India, he said that they are trying their best to get him right at the moment so as to make him available to play.
