Aiming to ease compliance with the recently launched Goods and Services Tax (GST), ClearTax has announced the launch of its GST Suvidha Kendra initiative.

An e-filing website for income tax filing, ClearTax works on the primary focus of serving tier II and III cities.

ClearTax is currently recruiting chartered accountants (CA) and tax professionals to be a part of these Suvidha Kendras, and aims to have 5,000 GST Suvidha Kendra facilities up and running across India by the end of 2017.

There are a large number of small businesses in the country that have never adopted digital tools for financial reporting before. In the GST era, they will need to employ technology to create invoices and file taxes.

Experts at the ClearTax GST Suvidha Kendra will help these businesses understand and fulfill a range of requirements for financial reporting and filing returns under the GST.

"The Cleartax GST Suvidha Kendra initiative is aimed to ease the compliance burden for the country's traders and businesses. Our facilities will primarily be located at tier II and III cities since a vast majority of the SMEs in the country operate out of there. Our CAs and tax experts will be available on ground to provide appropriate information and guidance through the filing process, first-hand," said Archit Gupta, Founder and CEO ClearTax.

The Bengaluru-based startup has undertaken many knowledge-sharing initiatives to make businesses and tax professionals in India GST-ready.

However, earlier this year, it launched GST E-Learning program in over 20 vernacular languages.

ClearTax has a range of end-to-end solutions for businesses and individuals to make their GST taxation process easier. In addition to the ClearTax GST; a GST compliance solution for CAs, businesses and enterprises, the brand has also launched the ClearTax Billbook, an easy-to-use platform that helps vendors generate GST-compliant invoices free of cost.
