Businessman Clive Palmer has threatened to sue Rupert Murdoch following a critical article about the businessman.

Palmer also accused the media mogul's ex-wife of 'spying'.

The move comes less than 24 hours after filing an 800,000 dollars defamation suit against Liberal National Party candidate Mal Brough.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Palmer threatened to sue Murdoch over the opinion piece published in The Australian on Thursday, which questions whether he is a mining magnate and billionaire.

Palmer accused Murdoch of telling his reporters what to write and said he needed to be brought to account, the report said.

He said that Murdoch will be sued and will be brought to Australia to answer these questions in the Supreme Court, adding that it was time that the tycoon was brought to account, who tries to dictate what do.
