Coal block allocation case: ED attaches property worth Rs 3.26 crore

Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday attached property worth Rs. 3.26 crore to an energy company in connection with the Nagpur Coal Block allocation case.

ED has attached property of Manoj Jayaswal and Abhishek Jayaswal, erstwhile Directors of Yavatmal Energy Ltd., in Dhantoli area of Nagpur.

Enforcement Directorate had initiated an investigation under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 against the directors after an F.I.R. was filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

During the course of the investigation, it emerged that the original promoter Manoj Jayaswal and his partner Vijay Darda had exited the company after allocation of coal block. However, the company and the coal block remained with the Jayaswal family.

 

A subsidiary firm bought a land in Dhantoli, admeasuring 1673.31 Sq. Mtrs together with an existing unfinished building structure which is valued at Rs 3.6 crore and as of now is attached provisionally.
