The city of Coimbatore is playing host to an International Industrial Trade Fair.
The event has been organised with the objective of providing an impetus to industrial growth of Tamil Nadu by attracting entrepreneurs from different countries.
The 14th International Industrial Trade Fair Coimbatore (INTEC 2013) is being held at the CODISSIA trade fair complex.
The Chairman of (INTEC 2013) International Industrial Trade Fair, D Gandhikumar said that in the past, the fair has helped industries to increase their production.
"The main focus is the energy efficiency in machine tools and as well as automations, to avoid the labour intensive industries to go with high production and high quality. This trade fair, so far, has taken about 50, 000 industries in and out of Coimbatore to upgrade their process, products and technology. Because of this trade fair, these industries have been already taken a very good leap and bound in productions and many industries started doing exports," said Gandhikumar.
Around 508 stalls have been installed and about 474 manufacturers from all over the country and from 16 countries have brought their machineries to exhibit at the fair.
A Japanese participant, Akira Hirano, said: "This is my first time for Coimbatore, so, this is very impressive for me and I like it."
For the running of the exhibited machineries, around 3000 kilowatt of power connection has been given to all the stall owners.
The displayed machines have been brought from Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, England, United Kingdom, and United States and from several other countries.
The trade fair would attract industrial entrepreneurs, decision makers, technical experts, academics and contractors.
The organizers hope that the fair would help more than 50, 000 industries in and around Coimbatore to upgrade their quality.
