Suchismita Das, who enthralled the audience with the song 'Jagao mere desh ko' for MTV Coke Studio season 3, has spilled the beans on working with the music legend and said that it was an "overwhelming" experience.
Speaking about her experience working with the Oscar-winning musician, the Bengali playback singer, who sang under his composition for Coke Studio, said, "It was amazing and overwhelming to work with Rahman. He is my mentor and guru and I have learnt a lot from him."
Recalling how the opportunity came her way, the renowned playback singer said, "I got a call from Rahman in the middle of the night, I didn't know what was happening that time. I hummed some Tagore songs for him and within a few days I got a call from his office that I had to go to Chennai. I went and he started working on the song and that's how it began."
Das started learning music under the tutelage of Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty and has done playback singing for films like 'Shaadi ke Side effects', 'Chandni Chowk to China' and 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani'. She also has independent compositions to her credit and has been taken onboard by Qyuki as their next big artist.
