A college football analyst has reportedly caused a stir by saying that he does not believe that women belong on the US College Football Playoff selection committee.

Former American footballer-turned ESPN analyst David Pollack made this comment following reports that former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is expected to be a member of the committee that will select teams for the College Football Playoff next year.

According to the Huffington Post, Pollack, however, admitted that he was going to 'stick his foot in his mouth' before making the comment, saying that he believes that people that have been around football and have played the game should be a part of the selection committee.

Three prominent female college football broadcasters slammed Pollack's comments on Twitter, although Pollack later responded by saying that he has nothing against female committee members, and only wants people on the selection committee that 'eat, sleep and breathe college football'.
