A member of the Colombian women's cycling team has defended their uniform after it was branded as 'sexist' and 'nude'.
The outfit, which has a flesh-coloured section from the stomach to the top of the thighs, caused controversy when the South American cyclists revealed it last weekend.
Angie Rojas, a member of IDRD-Bogota Humana-San Mateo-Solgar, has now spoken out. She said that she has already said that she designed the uniform and as an athlete, as a woman, as the cyclist that she is, she wouldn't be ashamed with this kind of design, Metro.co.uk reported.
The kit was even investigated by the International Cycling Union (UCI), which confirmed that it sent a letter to the Colombian Federation reminding them of their responsibility.
UCI president Brian Cookson had made reference to the outfit on Twitter on Sunday when he posted that to the many who have raised the issue of a certain women's team kit, they are on the case, adding that it is unacceptable by any standard of decency.
