Colonel Meow, the Himalayan-Persian cross-breed cat whose furry face has created a lot of buzz on the Internet, has been named the cat with the longest fur, measuring a full 9 inches from root to tip, by the Guinness Book of World Records.
The 2-year-old feline from Los Angeles was measured by three independent vets to make sure his illustrious coat was, in fact, the longest, the New York Daily News reported.
The, 'Longest Fur on a Cat' category was recently added in the Guinness Book of World Records and the owners of the Colonel Meow, who consider him "the best cat in the world", are thrilled that their pet earned the title.
