Comedian Garry Shandling passes away at 66

Comedian Garry Shandling has recently passed away after he suffered a heart attack.

Sources familiar with the situation revealed that he died from a massive heart attack died at an L.A. area hospital on March 24, reports TMZ.com.

It is being said Shandling was not suffering from any illness and it appears this was sudden. A source connected to Shandling said that he was healthy and speaking to people on Thursday morning.

He even made a 911 call himself and when he arrived at the hospital, he was alive.

As soon as the news of Shandling's demise came out, social media was filled with tributes.

 

Lena Dunham took to her Instagram account and wrote, "Thank you for redefining the sitcom. Thank you for making me laugh myself to sleep instead of cry. Thank you for teaching and loving Judd so well. Jai guru dev, Garry."

While, Jimmy Kimmel tweeted, "Garry Shandling was as kind and generous as he was funny and that is saying a lot."

Amy Schumer wrote, "Goodbye Gary Shandling thank you for your kindness and your generosity and for making me laugh so damn much."

Other celebs including Ben Stiller, Kathy Griffin, Ricky Gervais and Sandra Bernhard also paid their tribute to the comedian.
