Comedian Ralphie May dies at 45

Comedian Ralphie May is no more.

The stand-up comedian died at the age of 45 due to cardiac arrest, reports People.

May had been battling from pneumonia for past months. He even cancelled several performance dates in an effort to recover.

"Ralphie had been battling pneumonia and had canceled a handful of dates over the last month in an effort to recover," May's manager broke the news in a statement. "Earlier this morning at a private residence in Las Vegas his body was discovered, cause of death is cardiac arrest.

"Two days ago he won the Casino Comedian of the Year at the Global Gaming Expo and had performances throughout the remainder of 2017 as part of his residency at Harrah's Las Vegas," his manager added.

 

The late comedian was best known for finishing second on "Last Comic Standing" in 2003. He also had a successful stand-up career that included several specials on Comedy Central and Netflix.

May is survived by two children who he shares with ex-wife and fellow comedian Lahna Turner.
