Taking a jibe at the Shiv Sena for planning to disrupt the film promotions of Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, the Congress Party on Wednesday said the 'comedian and extremely talented' Shiv Sainiks must go and perform in the neighbouring country.

"I think in the cultural exchanges to be coming in, the Culture Minister must henceforth send the Shiv Sainiks for cultural exchanges to Pakistan and these special comedians and artists, and the especially talented Shiv Sainiks must all go and perform in Pakistan. It will bring a lot of safety for our artists," Congress leader Tom Vadakkan told ANI.

"It should be kept in mind that these (Shiv Sena) are the performing artists in India these days and their activities must be highlighted in Pakistan... It will be indeed a pleasure to watch the Shiv Sainiks perform in Pakistan," he added.

After disrupting ghazal maestro Ghulam Ali's performance in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena has now vowed not to allow the Pakistani actors to promote their upcoming films in the state.

The Shiv Sena had, however, defended its earlier move stating that banning the singer was their tribute to the Indian soldiers, who had died at the hands of Pakistan in the recent ceasefire violations.
