Coming back to music feels like coming back home, says Cat Stevens

British singer Yusuf Islam, earlier known by his former stage name, Cat Stevens recently discussed about his music and why he took a back seat in music for so long.

Stevens, who is preparing to open his first U.S. tour since 1976, told Anthony Mason in an interview that he looks for intimacy during his performance as he just wants to get close to his audience, CBS reported.

The 66-year-old singer performs at a stage set that depicts a train station and he calls it the Peace Train station.

He continued that coming back to music was like coming back home and felt he was back to where his first heartbeat began on the musical journey.

 

Stevens added that only regret he had was kind of in a way saying goodbye to a lot of the people that wanted hint o singing but he had a life to get on with.
