The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Wednesday said that it would oppose all the ordinances brought by the Centre during the ongoing Parliament session.
"Firstly, in this session, we will oppose efforts to convert these ordinances into laws that are legislations," CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat said.
Karat also said that the upcoming Budget would not be much pro-people.
"The Union Budget is to be placed; we have to watch the budget. We hope the budget will fulfill all the aspirations of the people, all the promises made. But so far we have been watching how this government has been working only in the interest of the big capitalists and foreign companies. We have to wait and see what this budget gives us," he said.
Meanwhile, another CPI (M) leader Biman Basu echoed similar sentiments as Karat on the upcoming Union Budget.
"I do not feel that the budget will be pro people. The budget will be anti-people and already sign has been given in that respect. The manner in which attacks has started on democracy through ordinance. In such a short period nine ordinances have been approved. Those who approves nine ordinances in such a short period we can understand that they are preparing to attack on democracy," Basu said.

"Immediately after the end of the Parliament session an ordinance was cleared or just two days ahead of the Parliament session they (BJP) have approved an ordinance. They could have easily raised it in the Parliament," he added.
He also termed the Congress and Trinamool Congress (TMC) as anti-democratic and anti-people.
The senior CPI (M) leader added that the West Bengal Government is the most corrupt government.
"West Bengal is the lone state in India where corruption has been proved against a minister but has not been punished. Initial investigations have established corruption against him and he is in the jail but still he is a minister. In spite of being in jail someone is a minister, there is not another incident like this India," Basu said.
