Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged scientists at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to complete their tasks before the prescribed deadline if they want to compete with the rest of the world.
"The big challenge is how we complete our work before time. If the world will finish something in 2020, can we do it by 2018?" asked Modi.
The Prime Minister was addressing a gathering of DRDO scientists in the capital today.
"The world changing very fast and technology is the key to our defence," said Modi
"Do our scientists get the opportunity to interact with army personnel? When this happens, it will be very satisfying," he added.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the country should have laboratories which employs only people below 35.
Modi said "We need labs in India which utilize raw talent, which employ people only below the age of 35. The ultimate decision should also be taken by a person below 35".
