The People's Democratic Party on Friday retaliated to protests by the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) over separate township for Kashmiri Pandits saying the party never recommended 'clusters' as a solution to the issue but a 'composite' culture.
"Clusters are no solution, we never recommended that, we always said it's 'composite'. We said whenever they (Kashmiri pundits) come; they must come to the society of Kashmir," Party spokesperson Nayeem Akhtar told the media.
"We are very keenly awaiting the pandits. It is a pre-requisite for the reconstruction of the ethos (of the society). We are committed to give the right atmosphere for them and... you'll see that happening soon. We want to reintegrate them into Kashmir's society," he added.
Earlier in the day, a clash broke out between JKLF supporters and the state police earlier today at the Lal Chowk of Srinagar.
The JKLF supporters were seen pelting the security forces with stones, forcing the latter to retaliate with tear-gas shells to disperse the mob.
