New Zealand star batsman Kane Williamson has insisted that his side are confident to bounce back in the five-match series with minor adjustments after suffering a surprising eight-wicket defeat against Sri Lanka in the third one-day international at Saxton Oval.
Sri Lanka produced an all-round performance on Thursday as they chased down the target of 277 within 46.2 overs, with Tillakaratne Dilshan and Danushka Gunathilaka making a brisk 98-run partnership for the opening wicket.
Williamson, who stood as stand-in skipper in the absence of Brendon McCullum, admitted that the game was one-sided but added that the hosts only needed to make small adjustments to be better in the next one, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Despite the loss, New Zealand are leading the series 2-1 with the fourth match set to get underway in Nelson on Saturday.
