Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that they were confident that the government would protect the dignity and integrity of the country, provided the ruling party is determined and motivated to tackle all problems.

"We are confident that this government will protect the dignity of our nation and the entire country will stand by the government but there needs to be a will and motivation from the people in power," he said in his speech at the BJP office here today.

"Today, when our country's integrity is being threatened, I don't think the present government is taking these issues seriously. The whole nation is disappointed with the Kishtwar incident," he added.

Singh further urged the people of the country to unite together and fight against challenges plaguing the Indian society.

"We achieved our independence with the collective efforts of the entire society irrespective of their caste, creed and religion. But our nation is facing many problems," he said.

"Every Indian wants freedom from these problems, be it economic problems or concern for national security. On this occasion of Independence Day, I believe every Indian should gather together and take a pledge to fight against these challenges," he added.

He also expressed concern over the government's failure to tackle anti-national sentiments and said that even after 67 years of independence there are some anti-national elements shouting slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' and unfortunately these things are ignored.
