Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant, who filed a complaint with the state Anti-Corruption Bureau against Women and Children Development Minister Pankaja Munde, on Friday claimed that he has received anonymous life-threatening calls.

"Since yesterday evening, I have started receiving anonymous calls giving life threats. There were nearly 40-50 calls," he told ANI.

Sawant also said that he had talked to Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria after the calls, adding that an official complaint will be lodged on Saturday.

"Tomorrow, we are formally going to lodge a complaint along with our party leader Sanjay Nirupam and all the Congress workers," he added.

Munde is accused of flouting norms while clearing purchase orders. However, she dismissed the charges levelled at her by the Congress, maintaining that she has not violated any rules.

As per rules, all government procurements over Rs three lakh are to be made through e-tenders. However, the Maharashtra Women and Children Development Ministry cleared the overcharged purchase orders for anganwadi schools without inviting tenders.
