Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi accused the Congress of indulging in heritage-politics and said that the grand old party must stop leaning on Nehru and Gandhi.

Commenting on the tweet by Congress leader Digvijay Singh that accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of running a 'sustained campaign' against the Nehruvian ideology, Naqvi took a jibe on the party asking till when would the Congress depend on Nehru and Gandhi and asked 'has Congress done anything by themselves?'

Digvijay Singh had earlier tweeted, "BJP RSS combine have always considered Nehruvian Ideology and Nehru Gandhi Family as biggest threat to their growth. They have run a sustained campaign against them. National Herald is another example of their vilification campaign against them."

"People of this Country would give them a fitting reply as they did earlier. Gandhi Nehruvian Ideology is ingrained in Indian Ethos," he added.
