Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief Ajay Maken on Wednesday slammed the Aam Admi Party (AAP) for blatant use of money power in the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections and said that it has violated the principles on which the party was formed.

"It is unfortunate that the AAP is violating all the principles on which it was formed. They talked about simplicity in politics, less use of money power in politics. It is unfortunate what we are seeing in Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections, that the paid sides are used to publicise the students union election. Lakhs of Rupees are used for publicity by the student wing of the Aam Admi Party. This is very unfortunate," Maken told ANI.

"The type of money which was spent for rock concert at Talkatora stadium, no student will be able to spend this kind of money. It will make elections very expensive and no genuine student will be able to contest election. This kind of blatant money power should not be used in DUSU election," he added.

The DUSU elections are due on September 11.
