The Congress Party on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of playing politics with ex-servicemen over their demands of implementing the one-rank-one-pension (OROP) scheme.
"Prime Minister Modi is playing politics with the ex servicemen over their demands. Their attitude towards our ex-servicemen is really unfortunate," Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad told ANI here.
"The UPA Government had announced a package of Rs. 500 crores for our ex-servicemen in the last budget, it should have been implemented immediately after the new government took over," he added.
Ahmad also criticised the ruling dispensation for not having a clear approach towards Pakistan's growing inconsistency on the border.
"Our officers and soldiers are being killed by Pakistani firing. They are violating the ceasefire by indulging in the unprovoked firings, but there is no clear cut policy from the Modi government about their policies towards Pakistan," said Ahmad.
"They (government) should make it clear on how they want to deal with the actions of Pakistani forces," he added.
