Criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to the Election Commission to look into Haryana Government's approval of a land deal involving Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, Congress leader Anand Sharma on Monday said the former seems to be politicizing everything.

"I am sure the government and the administration of Haryana is conscious of law and the Election Commission's code of conduct but Modi seems to politicizing everything. A sense of balance has been lost," said Sharma.

Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed on his part said the Prime Minister was either ignorant or was trying to fool the people by raising this issue.

"The Prime Minister should not be so ignorant. The paper which reported the news has also reported that the mutation was valid. Whether Modi is actually unaware of this fact or is just trying to fool the people will be better known by him," Ahmed said.

Addressing a rally in Hisar, Prime Minister Modi asked the Election Commission of India to take appropriate action on the Haryana Government reportedly giving sanction to a controversial land deal involving Vadra.

"Yesterday, despite the Model Code of Conduct, the son-in-law was given land. They know after the results he won't be given anything," he said.

Prime Minister Modi also alleged that Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was pressured by his party leadership to take such a decision.

The Prime Minister's attack on Haryana Government alleged that it had officially legitimized Vadra's land deal.
