Condemning the granting of bail to top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander and 26/11 accused Zaki Ur Rehman Lakhvi, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Thursday said the former's release was proof that Pakistan has not learnt any lesson even after the Peshawar terror attack.

"His release is a proof that Pakistan is not going to learn any lesson. We have been asking for his arrest for a long time. However, we need to continue to put pressure," Tharoor said.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson on Thursday said that Pakistan is supporting terrorism even after the Peshawar terror attack.

"Pakistan has no concern for such matters. Hafiz Saeed is freely staying in Pakistan and the country is still supporting terrorism. Even after the Peshawar attack, Pakistan is not serious to fight against terrorism. It has no will to fight terrorism whereas they should have learnt a lesson from Peshawar attack," the AAP leader said.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan's anti-terror court granted bail to Lakhvi. According to reports in The Dawn, Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency's prosecutor had disagreed with the bail plea, but the court released Lakhvi with surety bonds worth Pakistan Rs 5,00,000.

Lakhvi is one of the prime accused in the terror attacks that took place in Mumbai in 2008, in which 161 people were killed, with over 600 people injured. Indian security agencies also accuse him of overseeing the 2006 train bombings in Mumbai, that saw over 200 casualties.
