Downplaying the meeting of Congress in-charge of communications Randeep Surjewala with BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha, party leader Shakeel Ahmad on Monday said it was a personal meeting and it should not be seen with political point of view.
"Not just Surjewala, we all are fans of Shatrughan Sinha's acting. Personal meetings take place, but we should not see politics in everything," he said.
When told that the meeting assumes significance amid Sinha's growing difference with his party, and thus has fuelled speculations, Ahmad said: "Not just Shatrughan Sinha, but other leaders have also been sidelined by the BJP, but it is their internal matter, and I have nothing to say about it."
Speaking over the pulses' price shooting through the roof, he said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first premier of the country under whom chicken is cheaper than pulses. Only Prime Minister Modi could have done it."
Commenting on the Hindu Mahasabha's proposal to observe Nathuram Godse's death anniversary as 'balidan diwas', he said what could be more unfortunate than this that they would observe Gandhiji's assassin's death anniversary as balidan diwas.
