The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Saturday said that Congress has been "demeaning" their image and if it does not make amends, then it will have to take "the way out."
The NCP's comment has come after the Sharad Pawar-led party on Friday skipped a meeting of opposition parties called by Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Speaking to ANI, NCP leader Majeed Memon said they are in support of the entire opposition, but the Congress needs to make "amends."
"We had two MLAs in Ahmedabad, and had asked them to vote for the Congress, while one of them defied and voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It was the second MLA who voted for Ahmed bhai," he said.
"It was the 44th vote, the final vote, which the NCP MLA gave that made Ahmed bhai win," he added.
He further said that if this is the attitude of Congress party, then they will have to face the repercussions.

"They have to make amends, otherwise we will show them the way out," he stated.
Another NCP leader Nawab Malik said, "Yesterday the Opposition party meeting was called and as protest we did not attend the meet."
"Since the beginning, we have been saying one of our MLAs is hostile, and will not cast his vote in favour of Ahmed Patel," he said.
"They are just demeaning our image and that's why as a mark of protest, the party did not attend the opposition meeting," Malik added.
