Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate on Thursday said that insulting the people of Andhra Pradesh is in the nature of the Congress.

"It is in the nature of the Congress to insult the people of Andhra and to hate them.

Even former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi had insulted the then chief minister of Andhra in the airport and had made him cry, when he had not even become the prime minister," said Modi, while addressing a rally in Guntur.

"After independence, if there is one person who can take the credit of taking the country on the path of economic progress, it is Narsimha Rao. But Sonia Gandhi insulted him as well although he served the Congress for so many years. He had asked for a small piece of land in Delhi and she had denied him that," he said.

He also said that election in Seemandhra is not just to elect a particular leader but about changing the future of the state.

"The elections in Seemandhra are not just to elect a particular leader or government, but it is about changing the future of the state. You have to decide if you want to make it a scam Andhra or skilled Andhra," Modi said.

"None of the youth here would want the former. For ten years they (Congress) have been looting the state. The cotton producing farmers here have suffered a loss of 7000 crores when Sonia Gandhi made had put an export duty on cotton two years back. If we do not put additionl value to our cotton, the farmers will suffer a great deal," he said.

"I have a Five F formula to solve this issue. Farm to fibre, fibre to fabric, fabric to fashion, and fashion to foreign. Where there will be cotton, thread will be made, where there is thread cloth will be made and where there is cloth readymade garment twill be made and then exported to foreign countries," he added.

He also said that that crime has increased to a huge extend in the past ten years in Andhra Pradesh and that it could be changed by voting Chandrababu Naidu to power.
