The ongoing Congress protest over the power and water crises in New Delhi extended to Seemapur and Patparganj areas of the city on Monday.

Protesters demanded immediate action and refused to stop the protest till the situation did not improve.

Delhi Congress leader Arvinder Singh Lovely blamed both the AAP and the BJP for the crisis.

"AAP's fault is that it didn't make the Summer Action Plan, and BJP is responsible because for the past twenty days, it has not done anything to better the situation," Lovely said.

He added, "We have been told that the transmission line will start from tomorrow, if that happens, then we will stop protesting or else we will continue."

Another Congress protester said that the party has decided to shut down the national highways, and if the situation does not improve within 24 hours, they will surround Narendra Modi on his return from Bhutan later today.

The city has been reeling under long outages for the last 16 days after electricity transmission networks were severely damaged by a devastating storm on May 30.
