The Congress Party on Friday slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the controversy related to the education qualifications of its legislator Bhavna Gaur, saying every now and then a case of fake degree arises from the Arvind Kejriwal-led party.

"Every now and then, a new case of fake degree arises from their party. Today we have the issue of Palam MLA Bhavna Gaur's degree issue. She had mentioned in 2013 that she had studied till class 12, and by 2015 she claims to have done BA and B.ED. We are unable to understand which education system is so fast that she has completed these degrees in such short span," Congress leader Ajay Maken told mediapersons here.

"We had said that 29 of their MLAs have issues which could lead to suspension, there are serious charges which need to be looked into. A Lokayukta must be appointed. We had given them two weeks to appoint Lokayukta and said that we would take to streets if it was not done....Last time they had quit the government in 49 days over the Lokpal issue, and now even after 150 days their rule there are no signs of Lokpal," he added.

Gaur's education qualifications came under the scanner after Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma took cognisance of a complaint filed by lawyer Samarendra Nath Verma over the discrepancies in the educational qualifications in affidavits filed with the Election Commission in last two Assembly polls held in December 2013 and February 2015.

The court is scheduled to hear the matter on July 25.

Earlier, former Delhi Law Minister and AAP leader Jitender Singh Tomar was arrested in connection with his fake law degree.
