The Congress on Saturday slammed the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP Government over salary hike of its MLAs saying that it was evident the Delhi Chief Minister keeping any of the promises he had made to the people.
"Salary hike of the MLAs is not the only issue. We've also seen that over 21 parliamentary secretaries were appointed, who were allotted government vehicles and offices. He (Kejriwal) had submitted an affidavit wherein he had said that he would not take unnecessary security for himself," said Congress leader Ajay Maken.
"He had also said that he would not take a bungalow but stay in a basic flat but he is not doing that. Did he take the opinion of the public on the salary hike issue?" he asked.
AAP legislators have approached the Delhi government for a revision in their salaries.
According to reports, the MLAs have cited problems in meeting expenses that include the cost of maintaining an office in their constituencies, transportation and running a household.
