Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Wednesday said Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje must resign to give way to a fair investigation in the Lalit Modi row.
"Our demand is very clear. The allegations that are almost proven now and that CM Vasundhara Raje must resign. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje must resign to give way to a fair investigation," Pilot told ANI.
"The minister is giving in writing that they lent help to Lalit Modi and BJP is giving them clean-chit. How far will this double standard go?" he added.
The Rajasthan Cabinet had yesterday passed a resolution thanking Union Minister for Road Transport and Shipping Nitin Gadkari for giving a clean chit to Raje over her involvement in the scandal.
Gadkari had on Monday said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government is with Raje in the matter saying that all the allegations against the Rajasthan Chief Minister were 'baseless'.
In more trouble for the BJP, which has been defending External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, despite opposition demands that she be sacked for helping Lalit Modi, the former IPL boss has claimed that Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje secretly supported his immigration plea in Britain.
