Congress workers protested against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday demanding response to 50 corruption cases in which BJP is allegedly involved.
The protesters were demonstrating outside BJP office in New Delhi.
Irked at the land scam allegations by BJP on Robert Vadra, businessman and son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, party workers staged protest and instead raked up allegations against Ranjan Bhattacharya, son-in-law of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
"We have brought a list of scams, Modi should answer this. Was any enquiry initiated against Ranjan Bhattacharya? He is a person holding rupees 30,000 crore and they are harassing a person with assets worth rupees 30 crore? This is a wrong thing to do. When NDA (National Democratic Alliance) lost the power, then there were only scams over scams. And Sonia Gandhi served the nation well. Rahul Gandhi (Congress Vice-President) and Manmohan (Prime Minister) have done so much work which BJP will not be able to do in 50 years," said a Congress leader, Jagdish Sharma, who was leading the protest.
Recently, at a news conference held in New Delhi, BJP leadership screened a short film and displayed a magazine which was created with an aim to expose Vadra's alleged land deals and to spread their version of truth about his involvement in corruption.
Flamboyant businessman Robert Vadra has denied the accusations levelled by anti-corruption activists, of improper dealings with DLF, India's biggest property developer. In fact, the government had also ruled out an inquiry in the case.
