The Congress Party on Thursday alleged that the nation is witnessing a 'financial emergency' under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Responding to a poser on the 40 years of Emergency, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said that his party has already given a lot of statements on this issue.

"I don't want to repeat what has been said. The country is now going through a different kind of Emergency which Advani ji had earlier talked about," Tiwari told ANI here.

"For the past one year, the nation is witnessing a financial emergency under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. An emergency where the rights of the downtrodden are being snatched and all favours are given to the corporates.

Tiwari also took a jibe at the ruling dispensation over former union minister Yashwant Sinha's recent remark that all BJP leaders above 75 were declared "brain dead" when the party came to power last year.

"Yashwant Sinha's sorrow came to the fore when he said that all senior citizens of the BJP are brain dead," he said.
