Activists of the All India Mahila Congress, which is also referred to as the Mahila Congress, staged a protest outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters here on Thursday over the rising prices of vegetables and pulses.
The protesters raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Some of them attempted to climb over the police barricade set up at the protest venue, but were pushed back.
The activists, shouting anti-government and anti-Modi slogans, maintained that it has become difficult for a common man to survive as the government is not taking any step to rein in the prices of essential items.
They said that vegetables and pulses are now beyond the reach of a common man.
They accused the BJP Government of making false promises to the people, and even imputed that it was anti-people in its deeds.
