The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said the Congress would find itself 'isolated' if they make an attempt to stall the monsoon session of Parliament over the Lalit Modi issue, adding that the latter was looking for excuses to disrupt proceedings.

"The Congress Party will be isolated if it tries to raise the issue of Lalit Modi and tries to stall the Parliament. It only shows that they have been looking for excuses to somehow stall legislation, an important economic legislation in the country...There is no support for the Congress from any important opposition parties," BJP spokesperson told ANI.

According to reports, the Congress had said that the only way for the BJP-led government at the Centre to save the monsoon session was to seek resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

The monsoon session of the Parliament is important for the government with several bills, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), lined up for clearance by the house.
