A former evangelical pastor has said that a truly righteous Christian can never consume Starbucks beverages, as the coffee company is 'pouring money' for the destruction of traditional marriage.

According to the Huffington Post, David Barton's sermon at the Whitesburg Baptist Church that has recently been posted online claims that since Starbucks is one of the several companies publicly in favour of Washington's same-sex marriage bill, a Christian must not give money to the company that will use it to defeat traditional marriage which God supports.

Barton addressed the Christians saying that they cannot drink Starbucks and be Biblically correct on marriages.

Barton has been a clear opponent of gay marriage for several years. He had claimed back in April that gay marriage is unconstitutional because it goes against 'natural law.
