Finance Minister P.Chidambaram has called for a correct balance between the executive, legislature and judiciary to achieve sustainable growth in the country.
Addressing a function here on Saturday, Chidambaram said governance cannot be taken away from executive or the legislature.
He said parliament must be allowed to make laws to support the decisions of the executive.
He also warned against judicial institutions stepping into areas of governance, and expressed his regret over the judiciary taking the upper hand over the other two organs of the state.
Countries that have struck the right balance between the three organs of the state are working smoothly, Chidambaram maintained.
