Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirti Azad said today that increasing corruption within the Congress party is responsible for their poor performance in the assembly polls.
"The Indian public has taken this step against the increasing corruption within congress and extended their support to the BJP," Azad said.
Adding to that, he said that the Congress never took the major issues in the country seriously.
"It is a good thing that the Congress has got such kind of response. It says that they have never taken issues like corruption, price-rise, internal security and Naxalism seriously," he said.
Furthermore, he said the poll results in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh is primarily because of BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's good work in Gujarat.
"Everyone knows about Modi and the kind of work he has done for Gujarat. Our party has worked hard in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and has done a good job, but it is Modi who is primarily responsible for the kind of response the BJP got in these states," he said.
