Counting of votes is under way today in Bihar for the recently held assembly by-polls. The fate of 94 candidates contesting in the 10 assembly seats will be decided today.
The results will also decide the future of the 'secular alliance' of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar.
"We are totally convinced that the secular alliance will win more number of seats in Bihar," said Rashid Alvi, Congress leader.
" Tariq Anwar of NCP added, "It is too early to say anything. We had an intuition and even the newspaper reports said that out of the 10 seats, 5 seats each were supposed to be won by the BJP and the joint alliance. So if that being the trend, we can see that the results are showing as per the hopes of the people".
Talking to ANI, Rameshwar Chaurasia of BJP said, "See the alliance of RJD, Congress and JD(U) is no more a factor and these kinds of alliance are not going to exists in this country. This kind of alliance is not only going to fail in Bihar but also in any part of the country. BJP will be dominating in Bihar too. People want change, there is so much of unemployment. People have come to know that Modiji lives for the country and works for the welfare of the society".
According to reports, the BJP is lagging behind and only leading in four seats. The RJD-JDU-Congress combine is leading in six seats.
Meanwhile, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was taken ill and has been rushed to Mumbai for treatment.
