An Iowa-based couple left their waiter a 100 dollar tip for a 66.65 dollar meal even after receiving a bad service at Kazoku sushi restaurant in Cedar Rapids on their sixth wedding anniversary.
The wife Makenzie Schultz took it to her Facebook account to explain that their service "sucked," as the waiter took 20 minutes to get water, 40 minutes for an appetizer and over an hour for their entree, because the issue was being short staffed, not the server, Us Magazine reported.
She added that as when she sat there and watched the waiter, who at one point had 12 tables plus the bar, run back and forth and apologize for the wait, she said to her husband Steven that this used to be them and that she never loved that job, but did it for the tips.
She continued that they agreed it would feel good to make that guy's night when he would probably be getting minimal to no tips due to slow service and further added that she was just sharing this as a friendly reminder to think of the entire situation, before people judged.
Makenzie also shared a photo of the receipt, on which the duo had written a note for their server Kyle H "We've both been in your shoes. Paying it forward," received over 190,000 plus shares and 1.5 million likes.
