A new survey has revealed that couples, who are nearing the four-year mark in their relationships, can start to lose interest in each other and their sex drive can plummet gradually.

Peter Saddington, sex therapist asserted that a whopping 31 percent of men along with 18 percent of women confided that they were "sexually dissatisfied", the Daily Star reported.

Saddington continued that sex can be pushed to the bottom of their priorities.

He said that having children, being at the peak of one's career, dealing with medical issues or coping with depression all affect libido.

Psychology expert Dr Brendan Zietsch teamed up with genetic and brain experts to study the sexual histories of 7,378 men and women.

Accordin to reports, only half the 5,000 lovers quizzed admitted to being "satisfied" with their romps after half a decade together.
