The Supreme Court on Friday passed its interim order on related to the controversial role of BCCI president N.Srinivasan in the 2013 Indian Premier League spot-fixing scam that it will not stop the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is currently dogged by a spot-fixing scandal while replacing Srinivasan with former India captain Sunil Gavaskar as BCCI interim president till IPL7.

Coming out after the court finished its hearing on the petition filed by Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB), Secretary of that association, Aditya Verma described all what the court had to say infront of a packed media.

"Srinivasan has been removed till the time the case is sub-judice. Sunil Gavaskar to oversee IPL 7 as interim president of BCCI and the court has allowed the IPL 7 to go ahead," Verma said.

"Court said it is upto Gavaskar if Sundaraman will remain as CEO of IPL. This is just an interim order given by the SC and the court will re-open to give its final hearing on April 16th. As per BCCI' counsel, BCCI vice-president Shivlal Yadav will then take over as the President of the cricket board," Verma added.

The apex court on Tuesday asked Srinivasan to consider stepping down to facilitate a fair probe into the spot fixing scandal that hit the sixth edition of the IPL last year.

The Supreme Court made its observation on reports submitted to it by a probe panel headed by retired Justice Mukul Mudgal.

Justice Mukul Mudgal and his team - including L. Nageswara Rao and Nilay Dutta - had submitted their probe panel report on February 10. The Mudgal committee submitted two reports to the Supreme Court on February 10.

Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, who was a team official of Chennai Super Kings, has been indicted by a Supreme Court appointed inquiry committee of betting and sharing team information.
