Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho scored the decisive goal for his team that took them to the FA Cup semifinal after edging past Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at Ewood Park on Wednesday night.
Following a goalless first-half, the mercurial Brazilian turned out to be the saviour again for Liverpool in the 70th minute as he repeated his fourth-round FA Cup heroics to advance to the last four.
Earlier in the week, Coutinho insisted that his team should turn their focus on the cup as securing the title would salvage Liverpool's otherwise disappointing season.
Liverpool suffered two back-to-back Premier League defeats against top four rivals Manchester United and Arsenal, thus virtually ended their hopes of Champions League qualification, the BBC reported.
Liverpool will next square off against Aston Villa at Wembley in the semifinal on 19 April.
