CP Joshi, Minister for Road Transport and Highways who had additional portfolio of Railways, tendered his resignation on Sunday ahead of a possible Cabinet reshuffle tomorrow.

Joshi's resignation has been accepted by President Pranab Mukherjee.

This came a day after Ajay Maken, who was the minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, resigned from his post.

The 49-year-old leader is expected to be assigned a position in the AICC, most probably as a General Secretary.

The possibility of his being appointed as Delhi Congress President is also being talked about.

He was earlier Minister of State for Home Affairs and was later given independent charge of Sports and Youth Affairs.
